"Vội Vàng" - “Hold the moment “

Inspiration

In our busy lives, we hurry to work, we hurry to love, and sometimes we hurry to say goodbye. “Vội vàng” can be translated into English as “Hold the moment”, it is not only about being fast, but also about living with passion and not missing life’s precious moments.

I chose the name “Vội vàng” for this collection, inspired by the beautiful life philosophy of Xuân Diệu, one of Vietnam’s greatest romantic poets.

“I want to turn off the sun so the colors won’t fade.
I want to tie the wind so the scent won’t drift away.”

I hope you live fast enough to see many beautiful things, and slow enough to enjoy peaceful nights by listening to and seeing yourself under the warm light of a lamp called “Vội vàng”.

Technique

The key feature is layering the paper to let the light pass through in different ways.

Made with layered dó paper, it creates a continuous, sculpted glow—like light carved from a single form.

Special Edition

A limited edition of Vội Vàng features handwritten notes on dó paper, reflecting on our fast-paced lifestyle. These notes carry the message we wish to share with you — a reminder to slow down and cherish life’s precious moments.

The collection will be introduced for the first time at Maison & Objet Paris, 04–08 Sept 2025. We’d love to have you visit and see the pieces in real life.
